Everton target 'waiting' on green light to make a deadline day move - journalist

Everton are now in the final hours of the summer transfer window and looking for late opportunities.

David Moyes will be able to put his full focus on the deadline day back at Finch Farm amid the first international break of the season.

It was another positive weekend in the Premier League for Everton, with three points picked up on the road at Molineux.

However, Everton are still looking for a new midfielder and right-back before the window shuts at 7pm.

Moyes admitted more signings could arrive, but there were no guarantees made to the fans during Friday’s press conference.

The Toffees have made some positive moves in the market, but there is one player on their radar waiting to make a last-minute move on Monday.

Hector Fort waiting on Barcelona green light amid Everton interest

Everton have shown an interest in Hector Fort this summer, with the Blues keen to add to their options at right-back.

Jake O’Brien continues to do a solid job, but the Toffees are lacking a natural starter in the position.

According to journalist Juanmi Sanchez, Fort is now just ‘waiting’ for the green light to make his move to RCD Mallorca.

Fort did not play for Barcelona on Sunday night.

First, Mallorca need to move players on, which has left the Barcelona youngster on hold over the move.

Barcelona are ready to loan out Fort this summer, but the player’s preference is to remain within La Liga.

Everton will surely have their eyes on a potential twist in this saga, but it would appear that a move within the Spanish top flight is on the cards.

Angus Kinnear does have other targets, though.

It is believed Everton are keen on Kellen Fisher and Ainsley Maitland-Niles as deadline day saviours for the Toffees.

Nathan Patterson waiting on his Everton future

A new right-back is needed on Merseyside, with Nathan Patterson also left waiting on an answer over his future.

Everton have agreed to loan Patterson to Sevilla for the 2025/26 campaign, but they need to bring in a replacement first.

That is yet to happen. So, Patterson, as things stand, will be remaining at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Clearly, Moyes has no issues in moving Patterson on this summer, but the Toffees are struggling to bring in an alternative in these final hours.

Things will move quick on deadline day, and the addition of another right-back could very quickly see Patterson depart for Spain.
