Midfielder arrives in England to complete move – Leeds United miss out on deal

Leeds United bounced back in a huge way over the weekend, as they held Newcastle to a draw at Elland Road. After being battered at the Emirates, people were concerned about how the team would fare against Eddie Howe’s side.

Daniel Farke’s team put in a resilient performance on the day to secure a crucial point. Leeds go into the international break with four points from a possible nine – a great start to the season for a promoted side. The Whites were able to secure the big win against the Magpies without two of their key players.

Daniel Farke said that the club would not be looking to the window to find depth for the injured duo:

“We will see. We definitely want to do a bit more, I think it’s fair to say our attack wasn’t at the top level today, which we were aware of. I’m happy with the signing of James Justin. I think our defensive and midfield positions are all sorted but it’s no secret we would like to add some quality to our attack.”

In the past week, Leeds were strongly linked with a move for Getafe star Christantus Uche. But Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that the Nigerian has landed in England to complete a move to Crystal Palace.

If all goes well, the deal will officially be completed by Monday.

Club have to act fast before the deadline

Saturday’s game against Newcastle once again showed the need for a cutting edge in attack. Leeds did well to move the ball from back to front during the game, making the final few passes count was a problem. Daniel Farke should push the club to invest in another attacker, and possibly a number 10, before the deadline closes.
