Rangers look set to win the race for Youssef Chermiti, with Portuguese journalist [**Sebastião Sousa-Pinto**](https://x.com/sebsousapinto/status/1962123691820519496) reporting that the striker is on the verge of leaving Everton for Ibrox.
The deal is expected to be worth just under €15m (£12.7m), plus a percentage of any future sale.
Sousa-Pinto explains that the parties are putting the final touches on the agreement, and the expectation is that the 21-year-old’s next stop will be Scotland.
That would bring an end to speculation over alternative destinations such as Elche, which had been floated earlier in the window, [**as we reported**](https://sportwitness.co.uk/everton-to-make-transfer-decision-soon-as-clubs-line-up-to-take-player-away/).
Everton, meanwhile, appear willing to move the forward on after only one year at Goodison Park. The fee involved is close to the figure they paid Sporting CP last summer, and his sale would clear space in the squad following the arrival of Thierno Barry.
With the clock ticking on the market, Chermiti’s switch to Rangers is now edging closer to completion.
