2 sources claim Brighton agreement for exit – Monday morning medical

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Matt O’Riley has rejected a Premier League club and two Serie A sides to join Marseille on deadline day.

That’s according to Tipsbladet, who don’t name the other clubs.

The Denmark international wants to play under Robert De Zerbi as he loves his playing style. He’s also excited to playing alongside his compatriot, Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, before next summer’s World Cup.

O’Riley wants to play in the Champions League, which Marseille can also offer.

Tipsbladet report the French club have found an agreement with the Seagulls to sign him on loan without an option to buy. They will pay €3.5m to Fabian Hürzeler’s side, likely as a loan fee.

The Brighton player will undergo his medical today to soon complete the temporary move.

RMC Sport also report Marseille and Brighton have reached an agreement for the 24-year-old’s loan transfer without a purchase option.

They add O’Riley is expected to arrive on Monday morning to carry out medical tests and sign his contract with Marseille.
