Report: Bournemouth have bid rejected for striker, he turned down a move to Leeds earlier this month

One area that Leeds United require strengthening on deadline day is up front, but the club’s potential targets are dropping like flies as Adam Underwood leaves it late.

One goal in three Premier League games is a cause for concern and Daniel Farke urged Leeds to bring in more firepower despite the new arrivals of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor.

Leeds have been linked with so many attacking players over the last few months. But in the last couple of days, they’ve missed out on numerous targets. Facundo Buonanotte has chosen to join Chelsea on loan.

Christantus Uche has chosen Palace, Gustavo Hamer is off to PSV and Eduard Spertsyan has ruled out a deadline-day move. Another player to reject Leeds this summer is Italian striker Andrea Pinamonti.

Bournemouth bid rejected for Leeds target Andrea Pinamonti

Italy international Pinamonti is back at Sassuolo this season after a loan at Genoa. Sassuolo have been promoted back to the top tier, and Pinamonti has already opened his account in a 3-2 loss to Cremonese.

Leeds had a bid accepted for Pinamonti earlier this month, but the player himself chose to turn down a move to Elland Road. Nothing unusual for Leeds, this summer. Now, Sassuolo News have a new update.

They say Andoni Iraola’s Bournemouth made a bid for Pinamonti, but that offer has been rejected. Having agreed a fee with Leeds, Sassuolo have turned Bournemouth down due to a lack of time to replace him.

Who could Leeds realistically get before Monday’s 7pm deadline?

With Hamer, El Khannouss, Spertsyan, Buonanotte and even Nico Gonzalez now off the table – Gonzalez is close to joining Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid – Leeds are lacking in identified targets to bring in.

One option remains in Dilane Bakwa. Bakwa said he wouldn’t play for Strasbourg again, but came on in a 3-2 loss to Monaco on Sunday. Bakwa scored one and won a penalty, only for Takumi Minamino to score.

The other is a return for Manor Solomon. Reports say Solomon wants to join a Premier League club on the final day of the window. Nottingham Forest are also eyeing Solomon, who has rejected Lyon.
