West Ham’s deadline day has already gotten off to a flying start with plenty of transfers to come.

Graham Potter’s side could look much different at the end of the Monday deadline, with incomings and outgoings expected.

Nayef Aguerd is close to making his £19.9million move to Marseille, and the Hammers will already be eyeing a replacement.

Talks have now started with Brighton to sign Brazilian centre-back Igor Julio, with the clock ticking to get a deal over the line before 7pm.

West Ham in talks to sign Igor Julio from Brighton

West Ham will be trying to ensure that they don’t miss out on key targets on deadline day.

Last week, they launched seven bids for midfielders, which eventually worked with the signing of Mateus Fernandes from Southampton.

They now look to be doing something similar in their race for a new defender.

West Ham have explored a deal for Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell, and Brighton’s Igor has been added to their list.

According to Fabrizio Romano on X, West Ham are exploring a move to sign Igor as a new centre back from Brighton.

There is no agreement yet, but talks have taken place for the Brazilian to replace Aguerd.

The 27-year-old will likely be keen for more gametime with the Hammers, after struggling since his move to the south coast from Florentina.

Which position will West Ham target next?

West Ham are likely to have their backline sorted by the close of play, but there are still other issues in their squad.

Another midfielder could still be signed, with Middlesbrough’s Hayden Hackney heavily linked throughout the transfer window.

Lucas Paqueta appears to be staying after his intriguing celebration against Nottingham Forest, which relieves issues in the middle of the park.

However, the Hammers are likely to prioritise a new striker given their lack of options up front.

Niclas Fullkrug has been useless since joining from Dortmund last summer, and Callum Wilson can’t be relied on to stay fit.

However, there is a worry that the Irons have left it too late to sign a number nine, and the clock is ticking for Potter.
