Last week, Wolves were strongly linked with Christantus Uche.
Wolves reached an agreement with Getafe for Uche’s transfer, but then the move stalled.
It was thought that Uche and his representatives didn’t like the nature of the negotiations, with agent Jorge Mendes’ behaviour apparently a factor in why it did not progress.
In the end, Wolves walked away from the deal and have now gone in a different direction.
Wolves are set to sign Tolu Arokodare today from Genk, after he flew in yesterday.
Arokodare is a totally different profile, and cannot really play deeper like Uche can. But Wolves definitely won’t be landing Uche.
But another Premier League club look like they will.

Wolves fans look like they’ll still get glimpses of Uche this season, because the player is on course to join Crystal Palace, in what has been described as a surprise move.

Journalist Matteo Moretto reported last night on X: “Christantus Uche is already in London. In the coming hours, he will sign for Crystal Palace.”
Fabrizio Romano then reported: “Christantus Uche, in London to sign at Crystal Palace today as deal is now verbally agreed. Getafe expect all formal steps to be respected on Monday to sell Uche.”

There seems to have been a lot of drama surrounding Uche and his future.
And even this move to Palace is not without that, because it’s claimed by Marca that Uche would rather have stayed put.
He’s making the move ‘against his will’, with Getafe needing the money from his sale.
Wolves can have zero regrets over Uche
So it looks like Uche is coming to the Premier League after all, and it will be interesting to see how he gets on at Palace.
There’s a chance he could do well, as they’ve got a great team and manager in Oliver Glasner.
But based on what has been reported, Wolves need not have regrets.
A bit like Juanlu Sanchez earlier in the window, it has never sounded like he was particularly keen on a move to Molineux.
Wolves just cannot be bringing players to the club who aren’t all-in from the get-go, especially given how tough a season lies in store.
