Manchester City’s stuttering start to the Premier League season continued as they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday.
The Citizens – who were beaten by Tottenham Hotspur in their previous outing – went ahead at The Amex courtesy of Erling Haaland, but former City man James Milner drew the visitors level from the penalty spot.
Brajan Gruda then netted to put the Seagulls in front, condemning City to a second defeat in their opening three matches of the new season.
City have conceded four goals in their three matches so far, and it appears that the Manchester outfit are now attempting to bolster Guardiola’s option in goal.
As per Fabrizio Romano, City have agreed a deal to sign goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from French side Paris Saint-Germain.

He claims that the Citizens have reached an agreement with the Champions League holders to sign the Italy international, with current ‘keeper Ederson set to join Turkish side Fenerbahce.
Donnarumma, 26, joined PSG from AC Milan back in 2021 and has since played more than 160 times for the French side across all competitions, keeping 56 clean sheets and conceding 156 goals.
He played an integral role for PSG as they won the Champions League, Ligue 1 title and French Cup last term.
The Italian has fallen out of favour in Paris, though, with Lucas Chevalier having usurped him as first choice ‘keeper after joining Luis Enrique’s side earlier this summer.
Romano claims that Donnarumma is set to undergo a medical with City on Monday, with the player himself having agreed personal terms with the club several weeks ago.
Donnarumma will compete with James Trafford for the starting spot at The Etihad, with Trafford having returned to City this summer from newly-promoted Burnley.
