Jamie Redknapp says Everton have done something he ‘never thought’ he’d see before deadline day

After a topsy-turvy summer transfer window, Everton have had many movements, but Jamie Redknapp thinks they’ve done something truly great.

The 2025/26 window will be one to remember for Everton fans, as it signifies the start of a new era under The Friedkin Group.

Having David Moyes at the helm has helped as well, and it’s seen £66 million more spent than in 2024/25.

After the Toffees’ start to the season as well, it could be a campaign to remember, but there is still more business to be done on deadline day.

It’s been a major success, and Redknapp believes Everton have done something he never expected.

Jamie Redknapp names Everton’s Jack Grealish loan as the most ‘underrated signing’ of the summer

With the potential of three more signings at Everton, it will be hard to beat the loan deal of Jack Grealish.

The winger has made the perfect start to life on Merseyside, and Moyes looks to have got the best out of the 29-year-old.

Speaking to NOW TV’s TikTok, Redknapp didn’t see the winger joining the Blues, but now that he has, the pundit has dubbed it the most ‘underrated signing’ of the summer.

“The one signing I would never thought I’d see has got to be Jack Grealish to Everton,” Redknapp said.

“At Man City, he was so lost, he’d play on the left wing, cut inside, and then pass back to the full back.

“David Moyes is gonna play him as a number ten and let him do whatever he likes.

“He’ll say, ‘go on, make things happen.’”

Grealish feels he has more freedom at Everton, which backs up Redknapp’s claim, and it looks to be a season of rejuvenation for the on-loan Man City star.

Along with the winger though, rival fans have seen something at the Toffees that no one else has done better.

Rival fans believe Everton have won the summer transfer window

It’s been a busy market for the Everton boss and the owners, as it seems to have looked non-stop from the get-go.

Moyes wanted ten signings, and there could be a possibility that this goes beyond with the potential of up to three new additions.

Looking at the window, it’s certainly been a summer of change, as over £100 million has been spent.

Carlos Alcaraz £12.6 million

Thierno Barry £27.5 million

Mark Travers £4 million

Adam Aznou £7.8 million

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall £25 million

Jack Grealish Loan

Tom King Nominal fee

Tyler Dibling £35 million

From this, rival fans think Everton have won the window, due to their smart deals that have clearly paid off in the Premier League so far.

The summer hasn’t disappointed, but it’s far from done on the blue side of Merseyside, and transfers like Grealish is a good platform to use on deadline day.
