The latest Aston Villa news on transfer deadline day - with an update on Senne Lammens.
Aston Villa have reportedly reached an agreement with Royal Antwerp to sign goalkeeper Senne Lammens, in case Emiliano Martinez completes a switch to Manchester United.
Man Utd are in for both Lammens and Martinez but will only sign one, so their preference - still unclear at this stage - could have a huge bearing on what happens across all fronts. No goalkeeper in Belgium’s top flight made more saves than Lammens’ 174 throughout 2024/25 – and he also led the Jupiler Pro League for high claims, with 57. Rather remarkably, the goalkeeper saved four of the eight penalties he faced, so Villa would be confident going into any shoot-outs with the Belgian between the sticks.
