Brighton's Matt O'Riley is set for a shock loan move to Marseille.

The former [Celtic](https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/sport/celtic) midfielder started Brighton's first two Premier League matches but was benched in their victory over Manchester City.

Despite attracting interest from Italian clubs, including Juventus, he will today finalise a loan switch to Marseille.

The French side will pay a €2million (£1.7m) fee to Brighton and cover his full wages but have no option to make the move permanent.

This unexpected move comes as a surprise to fans, given O'Riley's involvement in Brighton's early season fixtures and the interest he generated from top European clubs.
