Nottingham Forest in advanced talks for winger from team they've just drawn in Europe -…

Nottingham Forest are going to be in search of new players on transfer deadline day, but then that is usually the norm.

Forest lost 3-0 to West Ham to temper the expectations following a positive start to the campaign, and more players are now expected to join.

Evangelos Marinakis will hold talks with Nuno Espirito Santo during the international break, but today the focus will be on completing the squad.

Jota Silva could leave for Sporting CP today and that would create space in the squad for a new winger to come to the City Ground ranks.

Nottingham Forest moving for Roger Fernandes

Forest drew Braga in the Europa League during Friday’s draw and now, the Reds are going all in to try and sign Roger Fernandes from the Portuguese outfit.

The talented teenager is the subject of advanced talks between Forest and Braga, with Fernandes thought to be keen to make the switch to the Premier League, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Fernandes scored for Braga yesterday as they claimed a 2-2 draw with Rio Ave, who are owned by Marinakis.

Fernandes has made 91 appearances for the Portuguese top-flight outfit, scoring 12 goals and claiming 16 assists with the majority of those coming last season.

Fernandes fits the Forest profile

The Portugal under-21 performer feels like a very useful signing for Forest to make on transfer deadline day.

With the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Dan Ndoye and Omari Hutchinson now in place at the club, any other wingers added to the ranks need to be something of a project for Forest.

Fernandes would provide that in abundance, with the player rated as one of Europe’s top talents and at 19, he could thrive with some minutes at Forest this season.

The winger is left-footed and that is what Forest are craving to complete the balance within their squad, with Fernandes likely to be the final piece of the jigsaw if the deal is completed in time.
