Man Utd are set to sanction several loan exits on deadline day of the summer transfer window.
The 18-year-old was made available for transfer at the start of the summer but has taken his time to evaluate every option available to him before making a decision. Amass was not involved for United U21s as they defeated Man City on Sunday afternoon as they did not want to jeopardise his impending loan exit to the Championship club.
United are eager for Amass to gain regular playing time this coming season and believe a move to Wednesday will provide him with the best opportunity to start matches. Amass has been called up to the England U19 squad for their triple header of matches against Ukraine, Spain and Netherlands over the international break.

The teenage defender made his debut for the first team last season and went on to make seven appearances across all competitions for the club. The former Watford defender caught the eye with his work rate and attacking threat down the left wing but often struggled with the physicality of the Premier League. United hope a potential loan exit will aid his physical development and also provide him with the priceless experience of playing in a professional environment every week.
Amass is highly rated by United coaches but faces a tough fight for a starting role at Old Trafford after they signed Patrick Dorgu from Lecce earlier in the year and added Diego Leon from Cerro PorteƱo. Those two left-wing-backs were involved in the US summer tour, while Amass stayed behind and featured for the U21s during their pre-season schedule.
Amass will become the latest youngster to leave United on loan after Ethan Williams joined Scottish side Falkirk and Ethan Ennis agreed to join Fleetwood Town.
