Aston Villa are reportedly on the verge of agreeing a loan deal with Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho on a temporary basis.
The 25-year-old impressed at Borussia Dortmund before joining United in 2021, but after his spell at Old Trafford largely disappointed, he has since been shipped out on loan back to Dortmund while spending last season with Chelsea.

In 41 appearances for the Blues, the England international scored five goals and provided 10 assists, and he’ll now hope to replicate that form and improve on it with Villa it seems.
According to The Athletic, Villa are now on the verge of agreeing a season-long loan deal for Sancho with Man Utd, as it’s claimed that the deal is now almost done.
Fabrizio Romano has gone one step further by suggesting that the deal is already in place and that the move is being finalised with Sancho set to join us, and so time will tell if that materialises given he has jumped the gun this past week on Lucas Paqueta rumours.
Should it go through as expected now though, it’s an intriguing move from Villa that will perhaps split opinion. On one hand, is Sancho really the best option available to us? Conversely, he has the chance to revive his career again with a successful stint at Villa, much like we saw with Marcus Rashford last season.
It’s a short-term solution for Unai Emery to add creativity, flair, quality and a goal threat to his attacking options, and it’s hoped that Sancho can step up to the challenge and deliver on a consistent basis, as based on our early-season form, we’re going to need some fresh inspiration in the final third.
Villa are likely to have a busy final day of the transfer window as we look to bring in reinforcements while possibly bidding farewell to more players too, but getting Sancho through the door is an important piece of business, and hopefully it proves to be a successful one as the season progresses too.
