Darko Gyabi is set to depart Leeds United on deadline day, with a permanent move to the Championship lined up.

Gyabi was on loan at Plymouth last season, playing 48 times as Argyle were relegated from the Championship.

With Leeds signing several midfielders upon their return to the Premier League, Daniel Farke has concluded that Gyabi isn’t of the required quality, with an agreement reached for his exit.

Hull City set to sign Darko Gyabi

Reports from Hull Live journalist Baz Cooper state that Gyabi will be joining Hull very soon, with Sky Sports also saying that the move will be permanent.

The academy graduate has only played six games for the Leeds first team, with the club sending him to Plymouth on two separate occasions.

Despite suffering relegation with his loan club, Gyabi showed promise throughout last campaign, and has earned him the chance to play at Championship level again.

Darko Gyabi could have provided depth to Leeds’ midfield amid injury crisis

Whilst it may be clear that Gyabi is perhaps too young to play a big role in the Premier League, he definitely could provide help to Leeds as they deal with several midfield injuries.

Ethan Ampadu is injured for most of September, whilst Ao Tanaka is also sidelined for a similar amount of time.

In Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Newcastle, Brenden Aaronson was the only player listed as a midfielder on the bench.

Despite Leeds wanting to sign midfielder Eduard Spertysan, Gyabi could have helped provide some depth for Farke.
