Man United Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Mason Mount, Matheus Cunha And Lisandro Martinez

**Man United head coach Ruben Amorim confirmed that he substituted Mason Mount at halftime against Burnley as a precaution.**

The Red Devils had already lost one player due to injury in the first half, and speaking after the 3-2 win at the weekend, Amorim said he didn’t want to take any chances:

“With Mount, I was not risking another player.”

Mount is believed to have picked up the problem early in the first half but he played another half hour before his substitution at the break.

**Expected return date: Unknown**

Matheus Cunha

-------------

The forward picked up a hamstring injury just 30 minutes into the game [**against Burnley**](https://manunews.com/blog/man-united-player-ratings-burnley/). He pulled up after attempting to retrieve a loose ball.

Cunha walked straight off the pitch and down the tunnel, with Joshua Zirkzee coming on in his place.

The international break will give Cunha a chance to recover for the derby against Manchester City but the nature of the injury suggests that he could be out for longer than a few weeks. Asked for a prognosis on both Cunha and Mount after the match on Saturday, Amorim replied:

“We will check them. We need those guys really bad to be really competitive.”

**Expected return date: Unknown**

Lisandro Martinez

-----------------

The 27-year-old is continuing his recovery from the ACL injury he sustained against Crystal Palace in early February.

Martinez has been pictured back out on the grass at Carrington in recent weeks, but he has yet to return to full training.

On average, ACLs take at least nine months to fully recover from, so there is a good chance that he will be back in action over the next month or so.

Of course, every player is different, so we shall have to wait and see how things progress with Martinez’s rehabilitation.

**Expected return date: Autumn**
