Solomon again? Major update on Leeds United's chances of Spurs agreement

Leeds United have been routinely linked with a move to re-sign Manor Solomon this summer, but there’s less and less chance of that being a deal the club pursue in the final hours of the transfer window.

United’s season could potentially hinge on what they manage to do in the final hours of the transfer window this afternoon.

Daniel Farke has told the club that it’s virtually non-negotiable that at least one new attacking signing is made before the window shuts, but the clock ticks on with little movement so far.

Manor Solomon, Leeds United transfer speculation given conclusive update – Journalist

No matter the ambition of Leeds’ reported targets this summer, we’ve never been far away from speculation linking the club with a move to bring Manor Solomon back to Elland Road.

It’s not hard to see why a Solomon reunion would be favoured by many fans after a stunning end to last season, with a breathtaking run in front of goal culminated in the title-winning strike at Home Park in May.

Having looked to impress new Spurs manager Thomas Frank, Solomon hasn’t managed to make a significant impression, leading to revived links away from the club, including to West Yorkshire.

However, journalist Kat Lucas reports that the left-winger is set to stay in North London past the deadline:

Understand Manor Solomon is now set to stay put at Tottenham.

As popular as he’d be, Leeds United don’t need Manor Solomon now

You can see why Solomon would be a popular signing, after such a memorable campaign at Elland Road, but he’s simply not what we need.

Not only has Solomon’s time in the Premier League been largely unconvincing outside of one game at Spurs (against a poor Burnley side) and a four-game stretch at Fulham, but Leeds’ recruitment has addressed his loan expiring.

We’ve signed a left-winger that is strong 1v1 and is a solid finisher in Noah Okafor, so that profile has been sorted – the next priority is a right-sided attacking midfielder like Facundo Buonanotte would have been.

Solomon unfortunately doesn’t improve this Leeds side right now.
