Everton are facing a race against time to sign Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl.
David Moyes is pushing to sign Rohl, as he looks to strengthen his engine room ahead of the transfer deadline.
The 23-year-old would give the Scotsman more depth behind the likes of Idrissa Gueye, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and new Everton star Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
If a deal is completed before the 19:00 pm deadline, Rohl could increase his wage significantly by moving to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Merlin Rohl could increase wages massively at Everton
Everton are seemingly progressing fast with a move for Rohl, and he is reportedly already on Merseyside ahead of a potential switch.

Rohl currently earns around £15,000-a-week with the Bundesliga outfit, according to Capology, which works out at £824,00-per-year.
If he was to move to the Premier League, he should expect a heavy wage hike, given the riches that England’s top-flight offers.

How much could Merlin Rohl earn at Everton
Given his age and experience, Rohl would likely not expect to be among Everton’s top earners, which include Jack Grealish on £225,000-a-week and Jordan Pickford on £125,000-a-week.
Rohl would be expected to be a depth piece for Moyes, rather than a guaranteed starter, and as a result, his wage packet will reflect that.
He can expect to be in a similar range to Tim Ireogbunam, who is another rotation option for the Blues, but should earn more than 18-year-old Harrison Armstrong, who does not have as much exposure to the senior game.
Iroegbunam is estimated to be on £20,000-a-week, and Rohl has more experience in a top division, so could realistically earn around £40,000-a-week on Merseyside.
That is not a substantial financial commitment for the Toffees, considering the money that they will bring in, and if the Germany Under-21 international grows into a key player, he will be rewarded for that with an upgraded deal along the line.
A £35,000 wage hike should be enough to convince Rohl that a move to Merseyside is the right step for his career, while also not breaking the bank for the Blues as they push for late dealings.
