Ipswich Town are set to sign Manchester City youngster Luca Fletcher for their PL2 squad, the East Anglian Daily Times and Ipswich Star understand.
As first reported by Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the 18-year-old striker is joining on a loan deal with an obligation to buy. The deal is also said to include buy-back and sell-on clauses.
Fletcher, who has been capped by England at Under-16 and Under-17 levels, started his career with his hometown club Reading before moving on to City in summer of 2023 after reportedly turning down a two-year contract with the Royals.
He is primarily a central striker but also able to operate on the left and right, scoring 12 goals and registering six assists in 39 Premier League 2 games for City.
This move follows the lines of the Blues’ previous signings of Tudor Mendel and Somto Boniface, with Fletcher going into John McGreal and Chris Casement’s Under-21s squad.
