Everton are still actively looking to do business in the final hours of the summer transfer window.

The window is set to slam shut at 7pm tonight, and Everton chiefs are working frantically on a number of deals.

On the outgoing front, Toffees youngster Tyler Onyango is set to join Stockport County, and Youssef Chermiti’s move to Rangers should be finalised imminently.

Armstrong could also leave for Preston North End, too, which would see Freiburg midfielder Merlin Rohl join David Moyes’ side.

Now, there is another transfer development coming out of Finch Farm as Everton make contact to sign a winger.

Everton make offer to sign Yasser Asprilla

It seemed as though Everton were finished with their attacking business after signing Tyler Dibling in a £40m deal.

However, Moyes and his chiefs have made a late move to sign Girona winger Yasser Asprilla, who joined the La Liga outfit from Watford in a £20m deal last summer.

According to journalist Pipe Sierra, the Toffees have submitted an offer to Girona for the 21-year-old right winger in the last few hours.

However, the La Liga outfit have swiftly rejected it and insist he will not be leaving on deadline day, with Sunderland and Benfica also making enquiries.

Everton clearly want another winger

Even if the Asprilla move fails, it clearly indicates that Moyes wants another attacker through the door before the window shuts.

At the moment, Dibling and Dwight McNeil, who doesn’t seem fancied, are the only options on the right flank.

Carlos Alcaraz has had to be played out of position on the right flank at times, so Moyes could pivot to an alternative winger to Asprilla.

Real Sociedad’s Takefusa Kubo has been linked to Everton for most of the summer, although, that deal would require in excess of £20m to be outlaid.

Perhaps there could be a loan deal on the cards.
