Everton have been linked with Norwich City right-back Kellen Fisher on deadline day, as a move could occur.

There is a desire at Everton from the fans and the hierarchy to sign a right-back, and David Moyes agrees with this concern.

The Toffees have a lack of depth, with Jake O’Brien once again having to be Everton’s saviour in this position.

But with the deadline fast approaching, Everton have three right-backs on their shortlist, including Norwich’s Fisher.

After being integrated into the first team, the 21-year-old could be next in line for the Blues, and a new update has come to the surface.

Norwich City have not received contact from Everton about Kellen Fisher

Merlin Rohl looks like Everton’s central midfield signing, and with right-back being their other priority position, Fisher looks like the most coveted option.

But so far, there hasn’t been concrete progression on this side of things, and PinkUn reporter Connor Southwell has revealed an update which doesn’t bode well.

The Norwich journalist suggests that reports online crediting Everton with an interest in Fisher are ‘at this stage’, not too advanced, as there has been ‘no contact’ with the Toffees over the England U21 right back.

Along with Everton, many top-flight clubs have watched him in action over the last 12 months, so Moyes might not be the only one looking into him.

A right-back is desperately needed, but with time running out, this deal might not get completed by the deadline.

But with Moyes liking Championship players, what Fisher did last season proves why he’s needed on Merseyside.

The type of player Moyes and the hierarchy are looking at are promising, young players, and ones from the Championship are an added bonus for the Scotsman.

He’s still a raw defender, but his first full season with the Canaries might prove he’s ready for the step-up to the Premier League.

The youngster has pedigree from an international level with the England under-21s already, and offers an attacking outlet which can add to Everton’s promising output in the final third this campaign.

Fisher won Norwich’s 24/25 young player of the season, as the 21-year-old showed his versatility in being able to play an inverted right-back role, which has helped with his prospects moving forward.

From his early career, Fisher has had a remarkable rise, and Everton need to wake up if they want his signature on deadline day.
