76ers forward on playing with Sengun and upcoming matchup against Jokic

Philadelphia 76ers and Turkiye's national team forward Adem Bona enjoyed his best game in the EuroBasket 2025 so far.

Position: C

Age: 30

Height: 208 cm

Weight: 111 kg

Birth place: Sombor, Serbia

In an 84-64 win against Estonia, the 22-year-old finished the game with 12 points (6/7 FG), 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 2 blocks.

"I mean, it just really feels really good to be able to do what I do best out there," Bona told BasketNews after the game. "Protect the rim, contribute defensively, be vocal, and also offensively run the pick and roll."

"It feels good, you know, to do what I do best out there today," he added.

Adem Bona names athleticism his biggest strength

The 76ers sophomore also made some flashy highlights today, including amazing blocks and ferocious dunks.

"I mean, it's undeniable," Bona said when asked whether he considers athleticism his biggest strength. "That's one of my biggest strengths — to be able to run, jump, protect the rim, play defensively."

"I was just excited to be able to display that today. I think it's a great process. You know, the first couple of games were a little bit slow for me, but we're getting up there and we hope we continue that trajectory throughout the whole tournament," he continued.

Adem Bona on playing alongside Alperen Sengun

The Houston Rockets' All-Star center Alperen Sengun is enjoying a great tournament as well. Against Estonia, he accumulated 21 points (8/13 FG, 2/3 3PT, 3/3 FT), 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.

With this performance, Sengun became the first player in EuroBasket history with three consecutive games of 20+ points, 5+ rebounds, and 5+ assists.

However, Bona and Sengun's partnership dates back a long way, as both represent Turkiye on the junior level as well.

Upcoming matchup against Nikola Jokic

If everything goes as expected in other games, Turkiye will face Serbia on Wednesday in a game that will decide which team claims the No. 1 spot in Group A.

As everyone knows, Serbia comes with Nikola Jokic as well.

So far, the Denver Nuggets superstar averages 24.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game in three EuroBasket appearances.

"I mean, obviously, Jokic is an amazing player. You can't predict what he's going to do, you know. We just got to go out there and play our best defense, and the rest is going to handle itself," Bona concluded.
