West Ham United are pushing to end the summer transfer window strongly.

West Ham have endured a turbulent summer, with David Sullivan admitting there have been very few incomings due to previous transfer mistakes.

On the pitch, West Ham started off with back-to-back heavy defeats to Sunderland and Chelsea, ramping up the pressure on Graham Potter.

However, a glimmer of hope was handed to Potter with West Ham’s 3-0 victory at Nottingham Forest, and now Ian Abrahams has predicted a fantastic end to West Ham‘s transfer window.

Ian Abrahams hopes Charlie Cresswell will sign for West Ham

West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for Charlie Cresswell.

This comes after Marseille have closed in on the signings of Emerson Palmieri and Nayef Aguerd on deadline day, with the pair completing medicals on Monday morning.

talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams has made his prediction on his X account, believing and keeping his fingers crossed that all three moves will go through before the 7pm deadline on Monday night.

Aguerd’s departure to Marseille, in particular, would signal that the Hammers would need to invest in another centre-back, with Cresswell being the top target.

Cresswell can help sure up leaky West Ham backline

Potter has seen his backline collapse on more than one occasion this season, with 11 goals conceded in the first four games of the season, including five at home to Chelsea.

Cresswell is a top talent, having developed in the Championship with both Leeds United and Millwall, and was one of the best defenders in France last season for Toulouse.

If the Englishman can bring his no-nonsense style of defending to the Premier League, he could be the key to West Ham’s survival, although other signings are needed elsewhere to help.
