Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho has now talked up the major influence that one Premier League cult hero had on him after his move to Chelsea.
Alejandro Garnacho exited Manchester United in August and the 21-year-old Argentina winger finally completed his sensational transfer to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea had been linked with Garnacho this summer and the Blues landed the Spain-born attacking talent in a deal worth £40m, with a 10 per cent sell-on fee included.
Garnacho now has the chance to revive his career away from Old Trafford after he was frozen out of the United first-team squad under manager Ruben Amorim.
Ruben Amorim’s relationship with Garnacho fractured in the tail end of the 2024-25 season after the United manager didn’t start the winger for the Europa League final.
Garnacho spoke out about Amorim’s tactics after United lost 1-0 to Tottenham in their Europa League final showdown and the winger sealed his fate at Old Trafford.

Chelsea summer signing Alejandro Garnacho reveals one of his ‘idols’ after leaving Premier League side Man Utd
Alejandro Garnacho has inked a deal with Chelsea until 2032 and the former Manchester United winger was a key target for Blues boss Enzo Maresca.
The Chelsea summer signing was spotted at Stamford Bridge on Saturday for the Blues’ 2-0 Premier League win over Fulham ahead of the September break.
The Blues confirmed the signing of Garnacho on Saturday and the United youth academy product took part in a sitdown interview with the club’s media channels.
Garnacho admitted that Premier League cult hero Eden Hazard was a big influence on him and the former Blues ace was a “big reason” for him to watch Chelsea.
“I loved Eden Hazard,” he said, as per Chelsea’s official website.
“Eden was one of my idols and a big reason why I watched and supported Chelsea a bit when I was younger.
“He was such an incredible player, playing in the same position that I wanted to, coming inside, scoring goals – he was crazy good.”

Former Man Utd star Alejandro Garnacho handed a chance to prove himself at Chelsea after his turbulent Old Trafford exit
United had reportedly been keen to secure a £50m price for Garnacho’s sale, but the Red Devils came down to meet Chelsea’s £40m offer for the Argentina winger.
Garnacho was not involved in United’s pre-season tour and was left to train alone after he was axed from Ruben Amorim’s plans for the 2025-26 campaign.
Some United fans are disappointed with how Garnacho’s spell at Old Trafford came to a halt after the Chelsea summer signing was tipped to have a bright future.
However, Garnacho has the chance for a fresh start at Chelsea after his United rift with Amorim, but he will have to prove himself big time under Blues boss Enzo Maresca.
