AC Milan star Samuel Chukwueze is reportedly set to join Fulham on a season-long loan deal with a purchase option.
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed it on X: Samuel Chukwueze is heading to Fulham. The Premier League club has agreed on a loan deal with AC Milan for the Nigerian winger, with an option to buy included in the package. The total deal could exceed €25–26 million if all conditions are met. Chukwueze has already completed his medical and is at the Fulham training ground to finalise the move.
A new chapter after a frustrating spell in Italy
Chukwueze arrived at AC Milan in the summer of 2023 from Villarreal, signing a five-year contract and carrying plenty of expectation. Known for his pace and trickery, he was viewed as an exciting addition to the Rossoneri’s frontline. However, his time in Italy has been underwhelming. Across 69 appearances in all competitions, he managed just eight goals and struggled to cement himself as a regular starter.
Before moving to Lombardy, Chukwueze had established himself as a standout performer in La Liga, where he played a key role in Villarreal’s 2020–21 Europa League triumph. His performances for the Yellow Submarine earned him international recognition too, with the winger amassing 46 caps for Nigeria. Now, at 25 years old, he is eager to reignite his career in England.
Fulham’s quiet summer explodes
This transfer marks a much-needed injection of quality for Fulham. Until now, the club’s only incoming signing had been 34-year-old goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte and a deal has also been agreed for Kevin. Meanwhile, they have seen important departures: midfielder Andreas Pereira returned to Brazil to join Palmeiras, while striker Carlos Vinícius left on a free transfer.
Chukwueze’s arrival should give Marco Silva’s side fresh attacking options, particularly in wide areas where dynamism and creativity have been lacking.
