The Rangers Review revealed last month that Chermiti was high on the list of targets for the Ibrox hierarchy heading into the final stages of the window. That interest was stepped up following confirmation that Hamza Igamane had clinched his move to Lille.

Russell Martin handed Bojan Miovski his debut in the Old Firm draw with Celtic on Sunday. The Rangers Review reported that Cyriel Dessers was on his way to Panathinaikos in a £3.5million deal in the aftermath of the Ibrox stalemate.
Now Chermiti has put pen-to-paper on a four-year deal in Glasgow to become the latest recruit this summer. Rangers will pay an initial £8milllion fee, with a further £2million agreed in potential add-ons.
Martin confirmed his interest in Chermiti in his post-match press conference. The Portuguese moved to Gooodison Park two years ago and will now be tasked with firing Rangers to success this season.
Chermiti failed to register a Premier League goal during his time on Merseyside. Rangers have struggled to find a cutting edge this term and that is an area where Martin is seeking improvement after the international break.
"Well, we have to get better with it," Martin said. "We had the most shots in the league before today, which people wouldn't realise, but I think we have to just find different solutions, different problems all the time.
"So I think we have players in the building now who can really help us create and unlock. In two of them games we were chasing our tail because we conceded bad goals at the start and then the team defends with their lives.
"So it's not a worry for me. The teams we've had have always scored loads and loads of goals, so I think we'll be the same, especially with the attacking talent we've got in the building and we'll have again tomorrow because we'll add to that.
"So yes, we have to build on today, clean sheet, being defensively really aggressive and solid and then the rest of the football will take care of itself if we play at that level of desire."
