Leeds United missed out on a deal to sign Fulham star Harry Wilson on Deadline Day despite agreeing to pay his asking price, GIVEMESPORT sources understand.
Daniel Farke's side have had a busy summer window with ten new faces arriving at the club since they earned promotion to the Premier League, and they started the season well with four points from their opening three games, including a win over Everton and a draw against Newcastle United.
But the Whites had been hopeful of adding more creativity to their squad before the transfer deadline, and after seeing a deal for Facundo Buonanotte hijacked by Chelsea, the 49ers set their sights on a move for Wales international Wilson.

Wilson, who has been described as 'magical', had been told by Fulham that he was free to find a new club this summer and would be allowed to leave if an acceptable offer was received.
GIVEMESPORT sources understand that Leeds met a quoted asking price over the weekend before Deadline Day, but the Cottagers were focused on incomings and so didn't respond to the offer immediately. Leeds were said to be understanding of the situation.
However, by the time Deadline Day came around, Fulham wanted to renegotiate the price and that led to Leeds making an improved offer for the 28-year-old attacking midfielder.
It's understood that there was an initial agreement between the clubs which saw Leeds submit a deal sheet to the Premier League, which would have given them an extra two hours to complete all the paperwork and get a deal done.
A deal so advanced that both Leeds and midfielder Wilson signed the deal sheet, but Fulham then made a dramatic U-turn just minutes before the 7pm deadline and informed Leeds that the deal was now off.
GIVEMESPORT understands that Leeds are naturally disappointed by the situation, but feel that they did everything possible to try and sign Wilson and strengthen the squad before the deadline, but in the end, Fulham decided not to sell.
Leeds were able to add Jake Bijol, Sebastian Bornauw, Lukas Nmecha, Lucas Perri, Noah Okafor, James Justin, Sean Longstaff, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Anton Stach to their squad this summer, as they look to avoid making an immediate return back to the Championship.
