Manchester United have made five new additions to their first-team as 2025 summer window draws to a close.
United kick-started the transfer window with a bang, announcing the recruitment of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Diego Leon, Bryan Mbeumo, Benjamin Sesko joined him alongside Senne Lammens who completed his transfer on the deadline day.
The Red Devils also made a couple of outgoings as they wanted to reshape the squad.
Here we rank every permanent transfer made by the club this summer.
Incomings
Matheus Cunha – 9/10
The Red Devils met the £62.5 million release clause in his contract at Molineux.
United struggled to score goals last season and addressing their forward options was a priority.
Cunha netted 17 goals in 36 matches in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign.
He possesses the fire and arrogance needed in a United forward and is someone who can shoulder the attacking responsibility.
He impressed in the opening encounter against Arsenal and hit the woodwork at Fulham.
The 26-year-old suffered a muscle injury in the 3-2 win over Burnley but Ruben Amorim will hope that the Brazilian makes a swift recovery.
Diego Leon – 6/10
The 18-year-old is a highly talented full-back signed for an initial fee of £3.2m.
The fee could rise to £7m depending on the add-ons.
Leon has been drafted into the first-team squad and will be competing with Patrick Dorgu and Diogo Dalot for the left wing-back spot this season.
He has the potential but United have been a graveyard for young stars lately.
It remains to be seen if Leon could break that unfortunate trend.
Bryan Mbeumo – 9/10
After over a month of negotiations with Brentford, United were finally able to complete the signing of Mbeumo.
The 26-year-old has developed into one of the best forwards in the English top flight over the last two seasons.
The Red Devils had to pay an initial £65m plus an additional £6m in bonuses.
Many believed that United overpaid for Mbeumo but we believe that is a completely false narrative.
Mbeumo scored 20 goals and recorded eight assists last term.
The likes of Noni Madueke, Anthony Elanga, Joao Pedro and Mohammed Kudus have all secured transfers at around £50-£60m.
Mbeumo has outperformed all of them and warranted the package United agreed to pay.
He already has two goals to his name in four games this season and could become the true talisman United had been searching for a long while now.
Benjamin Sesko – 7/10
Sesko’s arrival marked a complete overhaul of the attack.
The 22-year-old is currently one of the finest emerging strikers in Europe.
The towering centre-forward is still a raw talent and will take time to adjust to the intensity of the Premier League.
United supporters have to be patient as Sesko could serve them for years if his development goes according to the plan.
Senne Lammens – 7/10
United were initially not looking to sign a goalkeeper but had to recruit Lammens after seeing Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir make errors between the sticks.
The 23-year-old is a highly promising talent and boasted a save percentage of 77% in the Belgian Pro League last term.
The bar is set very low and the onus is on him to make this number one spot his own.
The fans will be hoping that they finally have a true replacement for David de Gea.
Outgoings
Alejandro Garnacho – 2/10
Garnacho endured a tough relationship with Amorim which reached to boiling point when the player was dropped to the bench in the UEFA Europa League final.
When Garnacho fired shots at the manager in the post-match interview, it was clear that his time at United was up.
United agreed on a deal £40m deal with Chelsea, even though they initially valued him at £70m.
INEOS should have at least demanded £10m in fixed fee from the Blues who made United pay £60m for Mason Mount.
Garnacho is a future superstar and already possesses the experience of 144 games for United.
He still had three years left on his contract and was on low wages compared to his teammates.
Yet, United cashed in cheaply, which once again proved how poor they are at selling players.
Antony – 7/10
Real Betis waited all summer to sign Antony on loan but United stuck to their demand of a permanent sale.
United will pocket £21.6m from his departure and will also have a 50% sell-on clause.
Antony wanted a severance package from United due to the salary reduction he would face by leaving Old Trafford.
Despite a threat from Betis to withdraw their offer, INEOS was adamant about their position to not offer any payment to the player.
We were happy to provide a bonus point for this ruthless stance, which was absent under the previous United hierarchy.
