The Milwaukee Bucks 2025-26 season squad has just two players left from 2021 NBA-winning team – Bobby Portis and Giannis Antetokounmpo. That number gets raised to two this weekend after the team announced the return of Thanasis Antetokounmpo.

Thanasis re-signing with the team means more than a roster spot. It also suggests that his brother and team superstar Giannis is not going anywhere.
Their former teammate and fellow 2021 champion Jeff Teague gives the Bucks’ latest move a favorable grade.
“The vibes is back in Milwaukee, baby! It seems like they are trying to get the band back together,” he said in his podcast.
Teague played less than half a season for the Bucks in 2021 but he did provide the stability they needed from a veteran. He even had games that basically energized or saved the team during the playoffs.
The one-time All-Star even joked that maybe he, too, can be re-signed.

“I might pull my highlight tape out soon,” he added.
“If ya’ll wanna run the championship back, let me know.”
As for Thanasis, he is excited to re-join the team and provide the energy the team needs whether on the bench or the hardwood.

Current Milwaukee Bucks roster look
Teams are allowed to bring in 20 players maximum in the training camp and with Thanasis’ addition, they now got 16. The last signing before him was Amir Coffey from the Los Angeles Clippers.
They currently have 15 on guaranteed, or partially guaranteed contracts and three two-way contracts.

Roster depth suggests their starting five will be Giannis, Kyle Kuzma, Myles Turner, Taurean Prince, and Gary Trent Jr.
Coming off the bench are AJ Green, Kevin Porter Jr., Jericho Sims, and new acquisitions Thanasis, Coffey, Gary Harris, and Cole Anthony.
General manager Jon Horst previously said they are not yet done dealing and will probably make more moves by February 2026.
