Manchester United ended a busy deadline day by sanctioning the departures of many players and the arrival of one, albeit a very important one.
Senne Lammens signed on deadline day, but the theme was focus on departures, as Jadon Sancho moved to Aston Villa on loan, while Antony got his move to Real Betis.
Although these are high-profile departures, the reality is that neither of those players was wanted at United, and Sancho won’t play for the club again.
One player who might, however, went on loan on deadline day, and Shea Lacey was amongst the many Man Utd youngsters to send him a message.

Shea Lacey reacts to Ethan Ennis’ loan move
Ethan Ennis was once the crown jewel of Man Utd’s youth system, as he became an instant fan favourite due to his move from Liverpool.
Ennis lived up to that billing, too, before injuries played their cruel hand on his career.
Now fit and firing, Ennis is seeking to rebuild his career because the club haven’t given up on him. He won promotion last season with Doncaster on loan, and he’s off to another team now.
Ennis is joining Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan in the fourth division, where he was with Doncaster last season as well.

United’s young talent is no stranger to the club, with Ennis following Rhys Bennett’s footsteps, who shone at Fleetwood last season.
Upon the confirmation of his move, Fleetwood welcomed him on Instagram, with Shea Lacey among the many youngsters to react.
Shea Lacey said, “Yes lad,” with two clapping emojis, while Tyler Fletcher wished him good luck. Finley McAllister wrote, “Cod army,” while Tyler Fredricson wrote, “Let’s go lad.”.
Dan Gore, Charlie McNeil, and Ruben Curley were among the other players with Man Utd affiliations to wish Ennis good luck.
Ennis needs to catch the eye this season
Through no fault of his own, Ennis is at a crossroads in his career where he needs to take League Two by storm this season.
He will turn 21 in December, and even though that is, by no means, “old”, the boat to break through at Old Trafford might have passed.
However, he has always been supremely dominating for the academy sides, so there will be many clubs interested in his services if and when he leaves United.
His contract expires in 2027, so this is effectively his last chance to make an impact before United look to sell him permanently next summer.
If he dominates this season, a contract extension at United might come his way before he’s sent on loan to a team in a higher division.
Barring such heroics, he’s effectively playing this season to secure his future away from United for next season.
