William Osula played 413 minutes from 19 games for Newcastle United, managing a goal and two assists, last season.
Back in June, the striker insisted he can showcase his qualities if Eddie Howe were to give him more minutes at Newcastle. This season, he played 105 minutes from three games, scoring a goal in the process.
Eintracht Frankfurt made a late approach to take him away from Newcastle, as reported by Kicker.
It’s claimed the Bundesliga club explored the option of signing the 22-year-old on loan on deadline day but were unable to reach an agreement with the Magpies. Therefore, they couldn’t acquire the Dane’s signature.
Sky Deutschland journalist Patrick Berger took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to back this up and share additional updates.
He claims the German club tried to sign the frontman on loan with an option to buy and had also held ‘concrete talks’ with Newcastle. However, the transfer didn’t go through because the two clubs were unable to find an agreement.
According to Berger, ‘Newcastle didn’t agree’ to let Osula move to Eintracht Frankfurt on loan with a purchase option.
