On Monday, Sky Deutschland reported Fulham are in contention with Anderlecht and PSV Eindhoven to sign Bayern Munich’s Jonah Kusi-Asare.
Later that day, claims from Germany reported Fulham are in line to complete the 18-year-old’s signing on deadline day. The summer window has closed but Marco Silva’s side have not managed to complete this operation.
There were several reports in the German and the British press on why the Fulham move didn’t go through.
Sky Deutschland journalist Kerry Hau took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that a ‘crazy turnaround’ leads to the striker joining the Premier League club outside the transfer window.
There were concerns over paperwork related to the operation. Despite this, the journalist reports the Premier League gave green light for Kusi-Asare to join Fulham, after holding talks with the London club.
Kusi-Asare’s contract at Bayern Munich expires in 2026 and he’s set to extend it before moving to Fulham. According to Hau, the English club will sign him on €4m loan with an option to buy, and the Bundesliga winners have secured a buyback option.
In another post on X, the Sky Deutschland reporter explains the Swede is travelling to London on Tuesday morning to complete to his move to Fulham.
Expressen in Sweden are also reporting the Premier League approved Kusi-Asare’s move to Fulham. The attacker is on his way to join Marco Silva’s side on loan with an option to buy.
