Manchester City have officially confirmed the departure of goalkeeper Ederson, who has completed a permanent transfer to Fenerbahce.
Widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers of his generation, Ederson arrived at the Etihad Stadium from Benfica in 2017 and established himself as Pep Guardiola’s first choice during a historic period in the club’s history.
The 32-year-old departs having won a total of 18 trophies at Man City, including six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups, three Community Shields and our first ever Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup successes in 2023.
Ederson’s six top-flight titles in England makes him the most decorated goalkeeper in Premier League history, while ex-Liverpool man Bruce Grobbelaar is the only other shot-stopper to have also won the title in England’s top division six times in football history.
The Brazilian is also a three-time Premier League Golden Glove winner - only bettered by Petr Cech and Joe Hart - and he has kept more clean sheets than any other Man City goalkeeper in the Premier League, with his 122 shutouts coming in 276 league appearances.
Known for his ice cool composure and unique ability with the ball at his feet, Ederson is the only goalkeeper in Premier League history who has provided seven assists, including an impressive four in his final season at the club.
He made a total of 372 appearances for Man City across all competitions, with only current club captain Bernardo Silva having played more games for the Citizens since the summer of 2017.

Ederson bids emotional Man City farewell after eight successful years at the Etihad
Ederson, who will forever be remembered as a pivotal figure in one the most successful teams in English football history, will now continue his career in Turkey with Fenerbahce, subject to international clearance, and he has bid an emotional farewell to the Citizens on their official website.
Reflecting on his career at the Etihad, Ederson said: “I leave Manchester City incredibly proud of what we have achieved together, and I am honoured to have worn the shirt so many times.
“Under Pep, we have won dominated the Premier League and conquered Europe. It has been amazing.
“I would first of all like to thank him and Head of Goalkeeping Xabier Mancisidor for making me the best goalkeeper I could be and teaching so much about the game.
“I must also thank my teammates. Our desire to win every game we play has been a joy to be a part of and that has made me relish every day on the training field or in the dressing room with every one of you.
“Finally, the fans. Thank you for making me feel at home in a city so far away from where I am from and for supporting me throughout what has been an amazing period for me and my family.
“I arrived in Manchester eight years ago full of hope, but I could not have predicted such a beautiful time together.
“Playing for City has been the most special time of my life and I will always be a fan of this special club. I’m going with my wife and children, but I’m leaving a big family here, Cityzens. Once a Blue, always a Blue.”

"Ederson has truly cemented his place in the history of Man City", says Viana
Director of football Hugo Viana added: “Ederson has been an incredible servant to Manchester City. The fact no goalkeeper has ever won more Premier League titles says everything you need to know about his quality and consistency in a City shirt.
“He has been a huge figure in all our successes over recent years, and his skills and bravery have been crucial in helping City play the beautiful football we have seen.
“He has truly cemented his place in the history of Manchester City, and we all wish him well in the next chapter of his career. And he leaves us knowing that he will always be welcomed at this football club.”
The departure of Ederson is set to pave the way for Man City to confirm the signing of Italy international Gianluigi Donnarumma from Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain.
