Nottingham Forest’s move for Cuiabano is set to cost €6m (around £5.1m), according to Brazilian journalist [**Venê Casagrande**](https://x.com/venecasagrande/status/1962587310404309293). The left-back has been give a five-year contract at the City Ground.
That price is notably lower than the figures involved when Brighton tried to sign him earlier this summer. The Seagulls had three offers turned down – the last worth €9m – as Botafogo valued Cuiabano closer to €10m-€12m.
Nottingham Forest, however, have managed to close at €6m, something that can be put down to the relationship between John Textor and Evangelos Marinakis. The link between their networks has already helped bring down the price tags of other Botafogo players moving to Nottingham, such as Igor Jesus and Jair Cunha.
Cuiabano, 21, has been out since the start of August with an ankle sprain, but that hasn’t put Forest off. The club have had him on their list for months, and this agreement makes him the fourth Botafogo player to head for Nottingham in this transfer window.
