Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho has issued a four-word message after he completed a season-long loan move to Aston Villa on Monday.

Sancho, 25, who spent the 2024/25 campaign at Chelsea, informed United of his desire to leave the club and explore different opportunities earlier this summer.

There had been talk that Sancho was closing in on a move to Serie A side Roma, while Besiktas were among the others interested in a move for the England international.

However, Sancho has since instead made the move to Villa, as Unai Emery's side strengthened their squad after a difficult start to the season. He has put pen to paper on a straight loan deal.

Villa are expected to cover 80 per cent of Sancho's wages, with the West Midlands side also set to pay an unconfirmed loan fee and achievable bonuses to United.

After his move to Villa Park was confirmed, Sancho took to Instagram to send a message to his new supporters.

Sancho, who has 10.4 million followers, said: "Let's get to work," alongside a flexed bicep emoji.

He could make his Villa debut when they travel to Everton after the international break. Sancho's Villa home bow is scheduled to be on Thursday, September 25 against Bologna in the Europa League.

The ex-Chelsea loanee signed for United in a deal worth £73million from Borussia Dortmund in 2021. He endured a difficult first season at Old Trafford, scoring just five goals and adding three assists in 38 matches.

Life at United got a little better for Sancho in 2022/23, as he upped his combined goal and assist total to 10 in 41 appearances, with the forward helping Erik ten Hag's side to Carabao Cup glory.

However, Sancho and Ten Hag had a breakdown in relationship following United's defeat to Arsenal in September 2023 and that proved to be the beginning of the end for him in Manchester.

He spent the second half of that season back at Dortmund, helping them reach the Champions League final, before then going out on loan once again, this time to Chelsea, for 2024/25.

Sancho netted five times and provided 10 assists in 42 matches for the Blues. During his time in west London, he won the Conference League and helped them finish in the top four.
