Despite his historic £125million move from Newcastle to Liverpool, Alexander Isak's hefty new wages still fall short of both Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah's staggering income.
The 25-year-old's much-anticipated transfer to the Reds was confirmed on Monday, making the ex-Magpies forward the most expensive player in British football history and the third priciest in world football.
The official confirmation of the move came after the 7pm deadline as Isak finished his medical and media obligations before jetting off for international duty with Sweden. Already one of Newcastle's top earners, reportedly pocketing £120,000 a week, Isak has seen a significant pay rise at his new club.
As reported by The Guardian, Isak has signed a six-year deal worth an colossal £300,000 a week. However, even this colossal figure is overshadowed by Haaland's earnings. The Norwegian superstar inked a nine-and-a-half-year contract back in January that will keep him at the Etihad until summer 2034.
Despite only being at City for two-and-a-half years at the time, his contract was due to expire at the end of the 2026/27 season. In recognition of his achievements, which include leading City to two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, the Champions League and a Super Cup, he was awarded a staggering weekly basic salary of £500,000, reports the Mirror.
While Isak's wages fall well short of Haaland's astronomical earnings, only four other Premier League stars pocket more than him. Two of those happen to be his new colleagues in Salah and Virgil van Dijk, whilst the remaining pair consists of Manchester United's Casemiro and Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling.

Isak's bumper new deal also matches the salaries of Bernardo Silva and Bruno Fernandes. Although the Swedish striker must bide his time for a fortnight before potentially donning the red shirt for the first time, he couldn't contain his enthusiasm about beginning life on Merseyside.
"I feel amazing," beamed Liverpool's new number nine. "It's been a long journey to get here. But I'm super-happy to be a part of this team, this club and everything it stands for. It's something I'm proud of and I'm really looking forward to it.
"I'm just happy it's done and that I can get back to work. I'm looking forward to seeing my teammates and the fans, and getting back out there. I think I have a lot to give, I think I have a lot to improve.

"I'm a striker but I always want to give as much as possible to the team, mainly goals but much more than that as well. I want to win everything. Yeah, [as simple as that]."

Isak was almost joined by Marc Guehi on deadline day, but the Crystal Palace captain's transfer to Anfield collapsed at the last minute. Despite undergoing a medical in London after a £35m agreement had been reached between the two clubs, Palace called off the deal when defender Igor Julio decided against moving to the Eagles and instead joined West Ham on loan from Brighton.
Guehi, 25, engaged in 11th-hour discussions with Palace manager Oliver Glasner, but the boss was unwavering in his wish to retain the England defender, leading to the club eventually backing out of the deal.
