A chaotic summer transfer window has closed after a hectic deadline day.
Monday saw Liverpool finally sign Newcastle striker Alexander Isak in a £125million British record transfer, just weeks after smashing the previous record to sign Florian Wirtz for £116m. However, a move for Marc Guehi collapsed at the final hour.
Elsewhere, Manchester United added goalkeeper Senne Lammens to compete with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir. The 23-year-old sealed an £18.2m move, with Emi Martínez’s potential move to Old Trafford breaking down.
Chelsea also had a busy day, signing Brighton midfielder Facundo Buonanotte, while significant outgoings, including Nicolas Jackson’s loan move to Bayern Munich, with an obligation to make the deal permanent in the region of £70m.
While Mikel Arteta added Piero Hincapie to his backline, allowing Jakub Kiwior to join Porto.
Here, the Daily Star Sport looks at the winners and losers of deadline day.
Winners:
Liverpool

The clear winners of the transfer window, Liverpool have spent well over £400m and have broken the British transfer record twice.
Arne Slot’s champions have undergone a major overhaul but three wins from three games, despite performances being far from convincing, show the Reds are still the team to beat.
Isak is one of the world’s best strikers and will add more goals to a frontline already including fellow summer signing Hugo Ekitike and Mohamed Salah. However, the breakdown of Guehi’s move is a real blow, with the Palace defender’s proposed £35m switch collapsing after the Eagles were unable to sign a replacement in time.
Even without signing the England international, Isak’s arrival means only one thing. Liverpool are clear favourites again for the title.
Score: 8/10 (10/10 if Guehi’s move was completed)
Manchester City
Another team enduring a frustrating start to the season, Pep Guardiola was busy on Monday with City chasing a move for PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma.
The Italian’s move has been completed for £26m, with an official announcement from City made on Tuesday morning. Donnarumma’s move opened the door for Ederson to join Fenerbahce.
Guardiola has snapped up arguably the world’s best goalkeeper at just 26 for a measly transfer fee, although his wages are likely to be astronomical. Regardless, Donnarumma is a major upgrade on Ederson, who was always the weak link of a near-indomitable City team.
City are also set to say goodbye to Ilkay Gundogan for a second time, as his move to Galatasaray nears completion.
Score: 8/10
Sunderland
Sunderland’s squad is almost unrecognisable from the one that got them promoted last year, but we suppose that’s what you have to do to be competitive in the Premier League nowadays.
Regis Le Bris

And Regis Le Bris moved to add three more signings to his team on Monday, seeing Lutsharel Geertruida join on loan from RB Leipzig, Brian Brobbey arrive from Ajax, and Bertrand Traore also sign from Ajax on loan.
Before making his move to the Bundesliga last season, Geertruida was the subject of interest from Liverpool and Manchester United, but if the moves work out, the 25-year-old could sign permanently for Sunderland next season for just £18m.
Meanwhile, Brobbey already has eight Netherlands caps to his name and scored 18 Eredivisie goals two years ago – form Le Bris will hope he can find again. While Traore is no stranger to the Premier League, playing for both Chelsea and Aston Villa.
Score: 7.5/10
Fulham
After an incredibly frustrating transfer window, Fulham finally took the locks off their transfer purse.
Having spent just £500,000 on goalkeeper Benjamin Lecomte before Monday, the Cottagers wrapped up a £34m deal for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Kevin, and signed Samuel Chukwueze on loan from Aston Villa to eventually give Marco Silva some new signings.
However, Fulham were unable to beat the deadline to sign Chelsea winger Tyrique George for £22million, with the brakes reportedly being slammed on after Harry Wilson’s potential move to Leeds United didn’t materialise.

Losers:
Manchester United
It was obvious from long before the transfer window opened that United needed a new goalkeeper this summer.
And the hapless duo of Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir have cost United in all four games this season. United did eventually move to sign Ruben Amorim a new goalkeeper, but it could all be too late.
Inexperienced Belgian keeper Lammens joined on Monday to give competition to the keepers already at the club, but the pressure on him will be like nothing he has witnessed before, with the 23-year-old not even making a senior cap for his country yet.

Being able to sign Emi Martinez from Aston Villa and sacking off Onana and Bayindir would have been brilliant business, adding an experienced goalkeeper for Lammens to learn and develop from. But United left it too late and have gambled on a huge risk that could backfire. For that reason alone, they are in the losers' section.
However, a major positive for United is the departures of Antony and Jadon Sancho, who follow fellow bomb squad members Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho out of the exit door. Rasmus Hojlund also completed a conditional loan obligation move to Napoli, potentially worth £43m.

Aston Villa
Unai Emery’s side have had a nightmare start to the season, picking up just one point in their opening three games.
And Villa have attempted to correct their miserable start with a number of deadline day incomings, including a final day swoop to sign Manchester United flop Jadon Sancho.
After being rejected by Chelsea, Sancho returned to Old Trafford a shell of the player they signed, but Villa feel they can bring the 25-year-old back to his best, signing the winger on a season-long loan.
Villa’s deadline day panic signing of Victor Lindelof shows Emery’s worry over his backline, with the 31-year-old available all summer if the Villans really wanted him. Harvey Elliott also arrives on loan, but his perceived strongest role is occupied by Morgan Rogers, who is going nowhere.
Score: 3.5/10
Chelsea
When isn’t it a busy deadline day at Chelsea? The Blues have continued their business right up until the deadline when they bizarrely signed Buonanotte on a straight loan from Brighton.
The Blues have also swindled a £14m loan fee with a £65m obligation to buy from Bayern Munich to buy Nicolas Jackson. Although time will tell whether Enzo Maresca will come to regret the decision with Liam Delap currently sidelined.
Raheem Sterling

However, they were unable to shift Raheem Sterling, who still has two years left on his £300,000-per-week contract at Stamford Bridge.
It was far from the most exciting deadline day for Blues fans, and one that could backfire if they live to miss Jackson’s additional goals.
Score: 3/10
Crystal Palace
What a shambles Crystal Palace were on deadline day.
Yes, the Eagles have retained their captain Guehi, but at what cost? Both financially to the club, who now face losing him for nothing at the end of the season, and mentally to Guehi, who acted so professionally throughout the window - he even recorded his own goodbye message to fans.
Palace were left scrambling around for a replacement after a £35m bid for the England international was accepted. Brighton defender Igor rejected a loan move to Palace, to instead join West Ham with two hours to go, sending the club into chaos.
Eventually, Palace withdrew from Guehi’s move to Anfield, reportedly with Oliver Glasner threatening to resign if the deal went through.
Palace did sign 19-year-old defender Jaydee Canvot from Toulouse in a £20.8million deal, but it had no implication on the decision to pull the plug on Guehi’s move. What a mess.
