Ishe Samuels-Smith holds a Swansea City shirtSwansea City AFC
Swansea City have signed left-back Ishe Samuels-Smith on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 19-year-old had agreed a five-year deal earlier this summer to join Strasbourg - who are part of the same ownership group as Chelsea - but returned to Stamford Bridge.
Samuel-Smith, who can also play as a winger, joined Chelsea from Everton in 2023 and was recently selected for England Under-20s.
"Ishe will provide valuable cover in a position where we have been short of options," said head coach Alan Sheehan.
"He is a hungry young player who is excited to make the most of this opportunity.
"He joins us with considerable pedigree at academy and youth international level, and we are pleased to have him with us."
The deal to sign Samuels-Smith for the remainder of 2025-26 was completed late on a transfer deadline day which saw Swansea bring in Celtic striker Adam Idah for an undisclosed fee which is believed to be an initial £6m.
The Championship club also hoped to bring in Burnley winger Manuel Benson.
Three players left Swansea on loan, with Ollie Cooper joining Wigan, Filip Lissah moving to Falkirk and Joel Cotterill switching to Bristol Rovers.
