MotoGP stops off in Barcelona this weekend at a circuit that will always remain in Jorge Martin's memories, because it is the one where he won the world title last year. The Spanish rider comes to Montmeló in a completely different situation: his 2025 has been marked by injuries, then the break with Aprilia, and everything has only been back to normal for a few weeks.
The most important thing at the moment is that the world champion is quickly starting to understand the RS-GP and regain his competitiveness. This is shown by the results at Balaton Park in the race, when he came close to the podium on Sunday after a splendid comeback. Barcelona is the right place to take another step forward.
"I can't wait to get to Barcelona, I have many fond memories from last year. This is a track that I really like, where I have always done well in recent years," Martin underlined, "I'm beginning to feel more comfortable on the bike now, and I think that this will be an important race for continuing to build confidence, gain familiarity with the bike and carry on with our path following the same approach we had in Balaton."
On the other side of the box there is an increasingly convincing Bezzecchi, able to take the helm of the team for more than half the season.
"I am extremely happy to be going to Barcelona, it's a track that I really like a lot. What's more, the circuit is always packed with people and fans, so that pumps me up even more. Above all, I just really want to get back on the bike. As always, we'll be trying to give our best," Marco assured.
Also with them will be Lorenzo Savadori, on his first wild card after replacing Martin in the first part of the year. The Aprilia tester will focus on the development of the RS-GP.
"Barcelona is a track where we've always done well in the past. During the recent tests in Montmeló we tested several interesting solutions that we'll be bringing to the track," he revealed. "We'll continue developing the bike throughout this race weekend and I can't wait until Friday to get back out on the track."
