Antony will now find himself crossing paths with an all-too-familiar face in Spain after Real Betis signed one of Erik ten Hag’s former Manchester United players.
The 25-year-old Brazil international is no longer at Old Trafford after La Liga outfit Real Betis finally completed their acquisition of Antony from Manchester United.
Betis had been linked with Antony all summer long after the former United star impressed during his loan spell under Manuel Pellegrini in the 2025-26 season.
The Spanish side agreed to sign Antony for an initial transfer fee of around £19.06m (€22m) and the summer deal with United included £2.59m (€3m) in add-ons.
Antony completed his move to Betis on deadline day on Monday, with BBC Sport reporting that United did not have to ‘pay off’ the Brazilian for the transfer.
According to reports, United have also inserted a 50 per cent sell-on clause in the £21.65m move that has taken Antony back to the Villamarin Stadium.

Real Betis’ official website confirmed that Antony has inked a deal with the La Liga outfit until 2030 after he completed his summer exit from Manchester United.

Betis confirmed the deadline-day signing of Sofyan Amrabat from Turkish side Fenerbahce, with the ex-United player signing on loan until the end of the season.
Amrabat spent one season on loan at Old Trafford after United signed him from Serie A side Fiorentina in 2023, with the Red Devils paying a loan fee of £8.5m.
The 29-year-old Dutch-born defensive midfielder was reunited with Ten Hag at the Premier League club, having played under him at Utrecht early in his career.

Sofyan Amrabat played alongside Antony at Man Utd and the Real Betis summer signing held Erik ten Hag in high regard
United had the option to buy Sofyan Amrabat at the end of his loan deal for £21.4m, but the club chose not to exercise the option at the end of the 2023-24 season.
Amrabat was sent back to Fiorentina after his season-long loan spell expired and his return to the Italian side was short-lived, with Fenerbahce signing him in 2024.
The Morocco international’s move to Fenerbahce was initially on loan before the Super Lig outfit sealed a permanent transfer for a €12m fee in 2025.
Amrabat spoke highly about his experience with former United manager Ten Hag and the Betis summer signing said the pair shared a close connection with him.
“I have a special relationship with Ten Hag since I was a 20-year-old at Utrecht,” he told The Daily Mail in 2024 ahead of United’s Europa League tie with Fenerbahce.
“He wanted to keep me this summer, so I wish him the best, but not for Thursday. I hope they lose.”
Amrabat made 30 appearances for the Red Devils during his loan spell and the former Fiorentina star lifted the FA Cup with United in 2024 under Ten Hag.
