Several Manchester United loanees were in action over the weekend. Read on as we look at their performances.
Marcus Rashford
The English forward came on as a substitute in Barcelona’s 1-1 draw at Rayo Vallecano on Sunday evening. He attempted to score a stunning goal late on, but it went wide.
Radek Vitek
The 21-year-old goalkeeper continued his brilliant form for Bristol City, starring in their 4–2 win over Hull City on Saturday.
He made a brilliant save to deny Oli McBurnie from scoring, drawing a ‘frankly ridiculous’ praise from Bristol’s X account and was subsequently named in the Championship Team of the Week.
Elyh Harrison
Harrison kept his first clean sheet for Shrewsbury Town as Accrington Stanley held them to a goalless draw at home.
The 19-year-old could have conceded a goal late on, but made an excellent save to prevent a deflected cross from breaching his goal.
Ethan Wheatley
After scoring his first goal in the colours of Northampton Town last week, he retained his spot in the starting line-up as they recorded their second win in League Two, winning 1-0 at Leyton Orient.
Wheatley thought he had scored when he put the ball into the net after a scramble in the box in the first half, only for the goal to be ruled out for a foul.
Habeeb Ogunneye
The young right-back made his fourth consecutive start for League Two side Newport County as they lost 2-0 at Cambridge United on Saturday.
Despite the defeat, Ogunneye played well in the clash, winning all his ground duels and losing just one of his aerial duels.
Sonny Aljofree
The 20-year-old centre-back played 90 minutes for League Two outfit Notts County as they recorded their second league win of the campaign, winning 2-1 at Tranmere Rovers.
