Antony was greeted by hundreds of Real Betis fans at Seville airport on deadline day.
The winger travelled to Spain on a private jet alongside his agent, Junior Pedroso, to complete a move to Betis. Upon arrival, he was captured leaning out of a car window and waving to hundreds of excited fans.
Betis used '#TheGOATIsBack' (greatest of all time) to announce Antony's return on social media.
United received a fixed fee of €22m (£19m), with a potential €3m (£2.6m) in add-ons. United have inserted a 50 per cent sell-on clause into the deal to profit if Antony moves on from Betis.
The Brazilian contributed just 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances for United and was loaned to Betis in the January transfer window, which gave him a new lease of life.
Betis' club statement said: "Real Betis Balompié and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Antony Matheus dos Santos.
"Born in São Paulo, Brazil (24 February 2000), Antony now returns to the Verdiblancos, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2030.
"The forward began his professional career at São Paulo FC before making the move to Europe in 2020. Following spells at Ajax and Manchester United, Antony first arrived at Real Betis during last season's winter transfer window.
"His impressive performances in green and white yielded 9 goals and 6 assists in 26 appearances, playing a decisive role in the club's qualification for European competition and in reaching the historic UEFA Conference League final.
"The new Betis signing is a full Brazilian international, having represented his country at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and winning Olympic gold in 2021."
Speaking in May, Antony broke down in tears when he discussed his time in Manchester. "[Coming to Betis] changed a lot because I needed to find myself, because of everything I went through in my personal life," Antony told TNT Sports Brazil.
"As I said, I wanted to do things, but they didn't seem to work out because I wasn't happy, I didn't feel that desire to play football, and I needed to find myself and be happy again because playing football was always something I loved.
"I went through difficult times [at United] when I no longer felt that pleasure. I even always told my brother, I told him that I couldn't take it any more."
United signed Antony in a £86m deal from Ajax on a five-year contract in the summer of 2022.
The winger scored just five Premier League goals during his time at Old Trafford.
