Pep Guardiola reflect on Brighton loss

Pep Guardiola has admitted that [Albion](https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/albion/) are "always" a tough opponent to face following Manchester City's 2-1 loss at the Amex.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring against Fabian Hurzeler's team but City were made to pay for their profligacy in front of goal.

The momentum of the game changed when Albion head coach Hurzeler brought on James Milner, Brajan Gruda, Georginio Rutter, and Yasin Ayari around the hour mark as the visitors were forced back.

Milner's 67th-minute penalty and Gruda's winner a minute before time earned the hosts a comeback victory over Guardiola's men.

In their last 10 meetings, Albion have only won three, while City have won five and drawn two. But the ex-Barcelona boss, who was happy with his players for an hour, said that it is never easy facing the Sussex outfit.

"Of course, the momentum in the Premier League always happens after a goal. You can do that. But in that moment, we forgot to stop to play," he said on Sunday.

"We have done brilliantly for the first hour against a tough opponent, always have been. And we play, yeah, we play really, really good. We create a lot.

"But after the goal, like with the sports, we played really, really good in the beginning. We conceded a goal. And after that, we are more, yeah, we are a little bit more unstable.

"And not unstable because I know how good they are, how strong they are. It's because we forget to continue playing. You know, I never, never can stop to play."
