Newcastle United were on the end of a parting shot from Alexander Isak's agent following his £130m move to Liverpool.

Following his move from St James' Park to Anfield, agent Vlado Lemic has been a man in demand, but when asked by Jim White on talkSPORT to come on explain the hotly-disputed tactics that won Isak his big money move, the Croatian said: "It’s nice when you have someone to be with, but it’s even nicer when you know who you’ll never be with again."

While Isak did not make a single reference to Newcastle or thank anybody from St James' Park, his agency Universal Twenty Two agency did make two posts on Instagram.

One of them entitled: "Unforgetable in black and white, unstoppable in what's next." The first post, a video showing a short recap of Isak's best goals and moments for United, including hoisting the Carabao Cup.

The second post was a slide show of Isak's achievements entitled: "The Newcastle chapter." This underlined achievements such as the fastest player to reach 50 goals in the Premier League, an eight game scoring streak, five consecutive games scoring away from home and his inclusion in PFA Team of the Year.

Moments after his sale Newcastle released the following statement last night: "Newcastle United can announce the sale of striker Alexander Isak to Liverpool for a significant British record transfer fee.

"The Sweden international joined the Magpies from Real Sociedad in 2022 and made 109 appearances in all competitions."
