Everton squad in full after Merlin Rohl transfer and eight more deals

Everton's squad in full after completing nine transfers during the summer window

After a chaotic summer, Everton have their squad for the 2025-26 season set. Until the transfer window opens again in January at least.

The Blues were expected to be busy right up until the end of the summer window and they moved to sign Merlin Rohl on a loan deal. The transfer includes an option to buy provided Everton avoid relegation, according to Rohl's parent club Freiburg.

That amount is thought to be in the region of £18 million. For a 23-year-old Germany youth international, manager David Moyes will be hopeful that amound turns out to be a bargain.

Either way, Everton have committed more funds to player additions in a summer that has been packed with them. Rohl was the club's ninth signing of the window in total, giving the squad a fresh feel in the first season at the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Carlos Alcaraz, Mark Travers, Thierno Barry, Adam Aznou, Tom King, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Tyler Dibling all joined on permanent deals. Like Rohl, Jack Grealish signed on loan and the transfer includes an option for Everton to buy for £50 million.

Additionally, the Blues secured the future of some key players.

Jarrad Branthwaite agreed a new long-term contract after interest from Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur. Meanwhile, last season's player of the year Idrissa Gueye also agreed a one-year extension; the deal includes an option to extend his stay to 2027.

Club captain Seamus Coleman and veteran defender Michael Keane also penned contract extensions.

In terms of outgoings, Youssef Chermiti left the club permanently, while Harrison Armstrong agreed to join Preston North End on loan for the remainder of the season.
