Several players left Manchester United on loan this summer, with many hoping to gain senior experience before returning to the club at the end of the season.
Ruben Amorim needed to trim down his squad for the 2025/26 season after Manchester United failed to qualify for any of the European competitions.
Three players left at the end of their contracts, while several loan deals were agreed. Antony and Alejandro Garnacho also left Old Trafford on permanent deals.
Jonny Evans retired when his contract expired, but he was instantly appointed as the club’s ‘loan manager’, replacing Les Parry.
This means Evans, who is completing his UEFA A Licence, is leading on loans for United’s youth players. He is working with the director of football, Jason Wilcox, and the director of the Academy to ensure progress is made in terms of individual player development.
A total of 17 players left United on loan this summer, including Marcus Rashford, but here we will look at four who should have a future at Old Trafford when they return.

Enzo Kana-Biyik
Earlier this summer, United signed Enzo Kana-Biyik from French side Le Harve, where the Red Devils controversially signed Paul Pogba from in 2009.
The French youth international scored nine goals in 18 games for Le Harve’s U19s and earned a place on the bench for the first team on two occasions.

Immediately after signing for United, Kana-Biyik secured a loan switch to Swiss Super League side, Lausanne-Sport.
Kana-Biyik is certainly one to keep an eye on this season.
Radek Vitek
Highly-rated goalkeeper Radek Vitek joined Bristol City on a season-long loan before hitting the ground running in the Championship.
A season in the second tier should accelerate Vitek’s development following a successful stint in the Austrian top flight with FC Blau-Weiß Linz.
Although United signed Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp, Vitek is one for the future, who will be aiming to push the Belgian for the first-choice spot at United eventually.
Vitek was overlooked at United despite the goalkeeping struggles that exist with Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir, but his performances at Bristol City have been top drawer.
Vitek boasts an 80% save percentage since the start of the season. No goalkeeper in the Championship has made more saves than the 21-year-old.

The future looks bright for Vitek.
Toby Collyer
Toby Collyer was sent on loan to West Bromwich Albion to gain more experience at the senior level, having made 13 first-team appearances for United last season.
The hard-working midfielder has already made three appearances for West Brom in the Championship, and he will be aiming to return a better player.
Amorim has already shown that he is a fan of Collyer, but there was no point in keeping him as backup this season.
It bodes well that West Brom have enjoyed a strong start to the season, winning three of their first four league matches.
Collyer would benefit from playing a role in a team that should be pushing for promotion back to the Premier League.
Harry Amass
Harry Amass completed a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday on deadline day.
It is the left-back’s first loan move away from United, after falling down the pecking order behind Patrick Dorgu and Diego Leon for the left wing-back role under Amorim.
Amass needs regular football at the senior level to kick on. He is joining a struggling Sheffield Wednesday side, but is expected to get plenty of minutes on the pitch.
United’s 253rd Academy graduate made seven appearances under Amorim last season.
