Everton were very active in the summer transfer window.
The Friedkin Group backed David Moyes in nearly every area of the squad that he wanted to be addressed, with a spend of approximately £113million.
The Toffees secured deals for the likes of Adam Aznou and Thierno Barry, and Carlos Alcaraz returned to Everton after spending the second half of last season on loan.
However, one headline-grabbing addition has been told he may have to settle for a back-up role at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

David Moyes warned about Tyler Dibling dilemma at Everton
Everton finally signed Tyler Dibling after weeks of chasing his signature, finally putting an end to the constant headlines.
Darke believes that Dibling is a good signing but questioned how Moyes will utilise the abundance of creative assets in his squad, with the likes of Iliman Ndiaye and Jack Grealish also playing on the flanks.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: “Well I think he is still quite inexperienced and raw, but he is an exciting player that will occasionally get the Everton fans out of their seats.
“It was difficult for him last season, he was playing in a very poor Southampton side, and he was their shining light, you watch some of their games and he was showing great flair and making things happen for them,” he said.
Dibling made 33 Premier League appearances last season
He scored two goals and notched one assist
Five cup matches with two goals and two assists
Darke added*: “He was in and out of team in truth, towards the back end of the season, so he has still got learner plates on a this level and I don’t think he is a guaranteed starter for Everton, not to begin with anyway.*
“The good thing for Everton, compared to say a year or two back, now they have got Iliman Ndiaye, Jack Grealish, Dibling, they are beginning to have a bit of star quality, and the image of the side is not as dour as it was.
“The kid is only going to get better, I think he’ll learn plenty under David Moyes at Everton, I just wonder whether Moyes might see it as a bit of a luxury to have Ndiaye, Grealish and Dibling in the starting line-up.
“That might be seen as too much silk, not enough steel, they will have to get that balance right, my guess is, most of the time, two of those three will probably play.”

Everton have enough games to go around
Obviously, the new big-money man will not want to warm the bench every week, but he may have to for the first few weeks of his Blues career.
He is not the finished article just yet, and he will still be given plenty of opportunities to get onto the pitch and prove his worth.
