CLEVELAND, Ohio — The Cavs are hitting the road for training camp — again.
For the second consecutive year, Cleveland’s preparations for the season will begin at IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL.
Camp will run from Sept. 30-Oct. 5.
“Returning to IMG Academy is a testament to the tremendous experience we had there last year,” said president of basketball operations Koby Altman. “The overall engagement, both at the Bradenton facility and throughout the community, was an invaluable part of our preparations.”
Last year, the Cavaliers became the first NBA team to hold training camp at IMG, the world’s leading sports education brand — a 600-acre campus with state-of-the-art facilities, including multiple basketball courts and comprehensive strength and conditioning resources. Prior to going to IMG Academy, Cleveland last held a remote training camp in 2004-05 at Captial University in Columbus.
“Being on Florida’s Gulf Coast provided an ideal backdrop for our team to focus, recharge and come together in ways that are hard to replicate outside of Cleveland,” Altman said. "We look forward to another great training camp at IMG Academy and immersing ourselves into the vibrant cultural scene that Sarasota offers.”
Shortly after the six-day camp at IMG, the Cavs will tip off their preseason schedule — a four-game run that begins at home against the Chicago Bulls on Oct. 7 and concludes a week later.
The 2025-26 regular season opener is set for Oct. 22 in New York against the rival Knicks.
