After failing to sign anyone on deadline day, there are plenty of Leeds United fans worried about what the season ahead might hold.
Even though Leeds United signed 10 new players in the summer, spending £100m in total, there are a growing number of fans who are worried about a potential relegation battle this season.
So far for Leeds United in the Premier League, so good. Daniel Farke’s side have four points from their opening three games, with Leeds United drawing 0-0 with Newcastle at Elland Road in their last outing.
But after failing to sign a new attacker on deadline day, there are huge question marks over whether or not Leeds United have enough firepower to keep their heads above water, with only one goal to their name after three league matches.

Leeds United could be in trouble after deadline day
Speaking on Sky Sports News after deadline day, pundit Kris Boyd gave a review of the day’s action and of the relegation picture after the window had closed. And Boyd has picked out both Brentford and Wolves to struggle this season, whilst also suggesting that whilst the three promoted teams in Leeds, Sunderland and Burnley have spent well, it is looking like Sunderland right now who have the upper hand.
Boyd said: “I know they’ve brought players in, but the goals have lost, it’s very difficult to replace them. You’re then looking at Wolves as well, I kind of fear for them… When you look at Leeds have obviously spent a fortune, well the three teams coming up have spent a fortune, but I think Sunderland; good result of the weekend again, home form is going to be key for them.
“They’ve given themselves an opportunity. But I do think, the two teams that we’ve mentioned there [Wolves and Brentford], they’re a lot weaker, that will give the promoted teams an opportunity to stay in the league this year, whereas in years going by, you never thought that was going to be the case.”

Who did Sunderland, Brentford, and Wolves sign on deadline day?
Sunderland took their summer spending total up to an incredible £160million with the deadline day signings of Brian Brobbey and Bertrand Traore from Ajax, whilst also loaning in Lutsharel Geertruida from Red Bull Leipzig.
Both Burnley and Leeds United have spent around £100million this summer. But the Clarets managed to get one more over the line on deadline day with the loan signing of Florentino Luis from Benfica.
And Wolves enjoyed a pretty promising end to the window too. They snapped up Tolu Arokodare from Genk, who was last season’s top scorer in the Belgian Pro League, whilst also keeping hold of key man Jorgen Strand Larsen.
Lastly, Brentford had a bit of a busy day, first losing Yoane Wissa to Newcastle United in a £55million deal, before signing Reiss Nelson on loan from Arsenal.
All these relegation rivals doing business on the final day certainly makes Leeds United’s lack of signings seem all the more worrying. But the Whites have done well in their opening league games, barring that 5-0 defeat against Arsenal, so there’s no need to panic just yet.
