ANDONI Iraola praised Ryan Christie’s character after the Scot made his 100th Premier League for the [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) at the weekend.

Christie came off the bench shortly after the hour mark at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, helping Bournemouth to a 1-0 win, seeing off late pressure from hosts Spurs.

The 30-year-old’s role has evolved while at the Cherries, joining as a winger, he was moved deeper by Iraola when the Basque boss joined the club.

He has since thrived in midfield, pulling the strings and forming a key part of the Bournemouth press.

His performances there earned him the Micky Cave/Daily Echo player of the season last season, too.

Asked about Christie reaching the milestone with the Cherries, Iraola said: “Ryan is a very good player.

“He's a good character for us. He's a very good guy to have in the building and probably after a lot of months without playing football, he missed this integration.

“I think he welcomed and needed the minutes in the Carabao Cup. You could feel he was still a little rusty on the ball and he's not as clean as usual.

“But I think today he has come in the second half in a good level and I hope he can keep building the form and even without a preseason he can now with the games on international break with Scotland, also keep adding minutes.”
